Step 3. Stitch 2 dark green print 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strips to gold texture 2 1/2" square to make pieced strip (Diagram III). Make 43. Set aside 31 pieced strips for sashing. Step 4. See Diagram IV and arrange and sew 3 rows using 4 matching pieced block units (watch rotation), 2 dark green print 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" strips, and 1 pieced strip. Sew rows together to make Pieced Block. Sew 4 block rows, alternating 4 pieced strips with 3 blocks each. Sew rows together, alternating sashing and block rows. Step 6. Stitch cream print 1 1/2" x 71" strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Stitch remaining cream strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides. Sew red/beige/green print 6 1/2" x 73" strips to sides; trim even. Sew remaining red strips to top/bottom; trim even. Assembly Diagram Step 7. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice. Toby machine quilted. She ditch quilted the blocks and sashing, then quilted concentric on-point squares in each block.
