Plan!
This reversible handbag is fast and fun to make. Purse handles can be purchased at your local fabric store, or online at www.joann.com. Directions are for handles with 1/2" slots for the small straps that attach them to the bag. If your handles have a different size slot, you may need to adjust the width of your straps. Cut the black 12" strips the width of the slot plus 1/2" total for seam allowances (for example, cut 2 strips 1 1/2" x 12" if strap slots are 1" wide).

1. Referring to Diagram I-A, make marks 2" down from top corners on wrong side of black 12" square, and 3" in from sides of bottom of square. Draw lines connecting marks. Place marked square right sides together with remaining black square, watching orientation of print. Stitch around sides and bottom, using 1/4" seam allowance for top 2" of each side and across bottom, and stitching on drawn lines for angled sides (Diagram I-B). Trim angled sides, leaving 1/4" seam allowance. Repeat mark, stitch, and trim process using 2 white squares, and again using 2 batting squares (interlining).
