Throw Pillows Pattern
Using To Sharon With Love bonus pattern and substituting coordinating fabric, make pillowcases to match Chintz Fantasy quilt (March 2005 issue of McCall's Quick Quilts)! For making a bed skirt to fit the bed of your choice, use Vintage Pinwheels WeBonus instructions.

Plan
Kathie fussy-cut the square of bird print fabric for the pillow top center, featuring one full birds-and-tree motif. Keep 1/4" seam allowances in mind when cutting, and remember to center the motif within the 12 1/2" x 15" rectangle. Yardage for the rose/cream stripe includes fabric for the pillow back.

Rose/cream stripe
... 2 strips 1 1/4" x 15"
... 2 strips 2 1/2" x 19"
... 2 rectangles 13 1/2" x 16 1/2" |
Sew It!
1. Stitch rose/cream stripe 1 1/4" x 15" strips to sides of bird print rectangle (Assembly Diagram); trim even with top and bottom. Sew rose/cream stripe 2 1/2" x 19" strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides to complete pillow top.

2. Fold under 1" hem allowance on long side of rose/cream stripe 13 1/2" x 16 1/2" rectangle; press. Open fold, then turn raw edge in to meet fold; press. Topstitch using scant 1/2" seam allowance. Repeat with remaining rose/cream stripe 13 1/2" x 16 1/2" rectangle.
3. Lay rose/cream stripe rectangles on pillow top, right sides facing pillow top, aligning raw edges (hemmed sides of stripe rectangles will overlap each other approximately 6"). Sew around all 4 sides, using 1/4" seam allowance. Trim corners, turn and press. Insert pillow form.
