shop
Blue cabin print 1/2 yd.
Blue loon print 3/8 yd.
Navy print (piecing, sham backs) 2 5/8 yds.
Green mottle (piecing) 1 1/8 yds.
See-through template plastic (optional)

plan
The blue cabin print, blue loon print, and navy print are all directional prints. Debbie fussy-cut the blue cabin and blue loon squares on point. To do likewise, mark, draw, and cut out a 7 1/2" square of clear template plastic, drawing in the 1/4" seam allowance; cut out. Center the marked plastic square on fabric motif (being sure that motif is on point). Mark around template and cut out. Repeat for remaining squares. Debbie carefully cut and pieced the pillow shams with the navy print running horizontally across the sham front. To do likewise, you will use only 8 of the 16 navy 11 1/8" quarter-square triangles (see Cutting Diagram, below). Cut 2 of the 5 7/8" squares in half diagonally one way, and 2 in the opposite direction.
