You Need:
White/red print
(star) 7" x 17" piece
Blue/white print (piecing, backing) 1/2 yd.
Red/white print (border) 12" x
16" piece
Pillow form

Throw Pillow

Cut!
White/red print
*1 square 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
8 squares 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
Red/white print
4 strips 3 1/2" x 10"

Blue/white print
*1 square 16" x 16"
4 rectangles 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
4 squares 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"
4 squares 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
*Cut first.

Sew!
Step 1.
Referring to Diagram I, draw diagonal line on wrong side of white 2 1/2" square with marking tool of your choice. Place white square on lower left corner of blue rectangle, right sides together, aligning raw edges. Stitch on drawn line. Trim and discard excess fabric; press open. Repeat on opposite end of blue rectangle to make pieced rectangle. Make 4.

Step 2. Sew Star Block (Diagram II). Referring to Pillow Assembly Diagram, sew
pillow top.

Step 3. To construct pillow, layer blue/white 16" square and pillow top with right sides together. Sew around outside edge with 1/4" seam allowance, leaving 8" opening for turning. Clip corners, turn right side out and press. Insert pillow form and sew opening closed.
