Plan!
Use Jereé's charming design to punch needle or appliqué this charming project. Fast and easy, this project is perfect for brightening up your desk or delighting your teen. We give instructions for the punch needle project. A knowledge of punch needle embroidery is required for this pattern.

If you choose to appliqué your flip flops, all you need are a few fabric scraps, fusible web, adhesive spray, and a frame with cardboard insert.

Cut!
Black/white print
... 1 rectangle 6 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Thin cardboard
... 1 square 3 1/8" x 3 1/8"
... 1 rectangle 5" x 7"

Stitch!
Note: This project uses a 3-strand needle, but only 2 strands of floss for all colors.
Step 1. Trace *design pattern on center of weavers cloth. Referring to manufacturer's instructions, thread needle.

Step 2. Refer to Diagram I and design pattern for color placement. Green, pink, and black (background) should measure 3/8" from the eye of the needle to the top of the gauge. Punch background first, starting with green, and working from outer edge inward. Punch flip flops second, measuring 1/2" from the eye of the needle to the top of the gauge. Flip flop straps should measure 5/8" from the eye of the needle to the top of the gauge. Punch third. color guide

Step 3. Once punch needle project has been completed, remove from hoop and fold project over index finger. Shear flip flop straps (cut loops and bevel edges). Trim project to 5" square, centering on design.

Assemble!
Following manufacturer's instructions, use adhesive spray to adhere project to 3 1/8" cardboard square, centering design and wrapping edges to back. Repeat to cover 5" x 7" cardboard rectangle with black/white print fabric.
Using epoxy (follow manufacturer's instructions), attach punch needle square to black/white rectangle, centering. Fit into frame (discard glass).
