A Beary Merry Christmas - Page 3 Step 5. Referring to Diagram V-A, use acrylic ruler to remove end of off-white 2 1/2" x 8 7/8" rectangle at a 45 angle. Cut opposite end on another 8 7/8" rectangle. Continue in same manner with 2 1/2" x 10 7/8" beige rectangles. Referring to Diagram V-B, sew angled ends of rectangles to red quarter-square triangles, to make pieced border strips. Referring to Assembly Diagram, stitch shorter pieced border strips to top and bottom of pieced center. Sew remaining pieced border strips to sides of pieced center. Sew 4" x 23" Christmas print strips to top and bottom of quilt top. Trim even with sides. Stitch remaining 4" Christmas print strips to sides of quilt. Trim even with top and bottom. Step 6.
