My Ugly Duckling Turned Into A Swan

With the warmth of a daisy-filled meadow, this quilt brightens a room with its yellow and white pattern. As a defining touch, an inner border of green separates the chain blocks from the solid border.

(border and binding)
... White solid - 3 1/4 yards
... Green print - 1/2 yard
... Backing - Queen Size

... *12 strips 2" x WOF (width of fabric)
... *5 strips 3 1/2" x WOF
... **2 strips 7 1/2" x 86"
... **2 strips 7 1/2" x 76"
White solid
... *6 strips 3 1/2" x WOF
... *10 strips 2" x WOF
... 58 squares 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"

... 2 strips 1 1/2" x 60", pieced from 3 WOF strips
... 2 strips 1 1/2" x 84", pieced from 4 WOF strips

Step 1. Referring to Diagram I, use 2" x WOF yellow strips and 3 1/2" x WOF white strip to make pieced strip. Make 6. Cut pieced strips into 2" segments. Cut 118 segments. Stitch 2" x WOF white strips and 3 1/2" x WOF yellow strip to make pieced strip as shown in Diagram II. Sew 5 pieced strips. From pieced strips, cut 59 segments 3 1/2" wide.
