Step 1. Referring to Diagram
I, arrange and sew together 4 assorted flannel 2" x 6 1/2"
strips to make rail unit. Make 24 matching sets of 2. Stitch together
2 matching sets of 2 rail units to make Double Rail Block. Make 12 total.

Step 2. Draw diagonal line
on wrong side of red flannel 1 3/4" square with marking tool of
your choice. Place 2 red squares on corners of 3 1/2" x 12 1/2"
beige flannel rectangle, wrong sides together, aligning lower edges
as shown in Diagram II. Stitch on drawn line. Trim and discard excess
fabric; press open. Repeat process on top half of beige rectangle to
make pieced rectangle. Make 31. In same manner, sew 2 red flannel 1
3/4" squares to corners of beige flannel 3 1/2" squares; make
