Cutting the Fabric
Assorted prints/textures
... cut a total of: 180 squares 4 7/8" x 4 7/8",
cut in half diagonally to make 360 half-square triangles
Pink/white print
... 2 strips 3 1/2" x 62", pieced from 4 width of fabric
(WOF) strips
... 2 strips 3 1/2" x 56", pieced from 3 WOF strips

Purple texture
... 2 strips 4 1/2" x 56", pieced from 3 WOF strips
... 2 strips 4 1/2" x 50", pieced from 3 WOF strips
Blue mottle
2 strips 4 1/2" x WOF

Step 1. Stitch 2 assorted
print/texture 4 7/8" half-square triangles together to make pieced
square (see Diagram I). Make 180 total.

Step 2. Referring to Assembly
Diagram, sew 15 rows of 12 pieced squares each, rotating squares as
shown. Sew rows together. Stitch 3 1/2" x 62" pink/white print
strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Stitch pink/white print
3 1/2" x 56" strip to purple texture 4 1/2" x 56"
strip. Make 2 and sew to top/ bottom of quilt; trim even with sides.

Step 3. Piece side outer
border strip as shown in Diagram II, using purple 4 1/2" x 50"
strip and blue 4 1/2" x WOF strip. Make 2. Stitch to sides of quilt,
aligning diagonal seams as desired; trim even with top/bottom.

Step 4. Layer and baste
quilt top for quilting method of your choice. The featured quilt was
machine quilted with an allover continuous design. Bind quilt with light
blue print fabric (See Basic
Quiltmaking Instructions).
