Step 3. To make blocks, refer to Diagrams II-C and II-D. Sew 3 rows using cream squares, pieced rectangles, and pieced square. Sew rows together. Make 4 Corner Star Blocks and 1 Center Star Block. Diagram 2-C Diagram 2-D Step 4. Referring to Diagram III-A, sew cream mottle 4 7/8" half-square triangle to red print 4 7/8" half-square triangle to make pieced square. Make 8. Stitch pieced squares to cream/red pieced rectangle (see Diagram III-B). Make 4. Sew cream/red pieced strip to large green/ cream pieced rectangle as shown in Diagram III-C. Make 4. Diagram III-A Diagram III-B Diagram III-C Step 5. Sew red plaid 3 3/4" x WOF strips to green print 2 1/2" x WOF strip (see Diagram IV). Make 4 for border strips. Diagram IV Step 6. Referring to Assembly Diagram, arrange and stitch 3 rows. Sew rows together. Measure exact width of quilt (raw edge to raw edge). Trim 2 pieced border strips to exact width measurement; sew Corner Star Blocks to ends of trimmed strips. Stitch untrimmed border strips to sides of quilt; trim even with top and bottom.
