Assorted ivory and beige prints

Medium blue print (geese) 3/8 yd.
Green print (sashing) 1/8 yd.
Navy/beige/gold plaid (beehives) 8" x 16" piece*
Black solid (beehive holes) 5" x 5" piece
Beige/red plaid (bees) 5" x 8" piece*
Navy/gold plaid (bee wings) 5" x 8" piece*
3 assorted red plaids and prints (flowers) 6" x 9" piece
each*
Blue/black plaid (flowers) 6" x 9" piece*
Ivory/green print (sashing) 1/8 yd.

Beige/blue floral (border) 1/2 yd.
Beige print
(binding) 1/2 yd.

Red/blue plaid and blue/beige plaid (bows) 4" x 6" piece

Planning
Rhonda placed many of her appliqué templates on the diagonal of the plaids. Do likewise if you wish.

For the red/blue plaid and blue/beige plaid bows on the beehives, Rhonda tore the fabric to achieve a frayed edge. She tied the strips in a single soft knot for a bow effect.

Cutting
Assorted ivory and beige prints—cut a total of:
... *4 rectangles 8" x 10 1/2"
... 48 squares 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
... 4 squares 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Medium blue print
... 24 rectangles 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"
Green print
... 4 strips 1" x 12 1/2"
Navy/beige/gold plaid
... 2 Template A
Black solid
... 4 Template B
Beige/red plaid
... 2 Template C
Navy/gold plaid

*Cut first.

Step 1. Referring to Diagram I, draw diagonal line on wrong side of assorted ivory/beige 2 1/2" square with marking tool of your choice. With right sides together, place ivory/beige square on medium blue print 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangle, aligning raw edges. Stitch on drawn line. Trim and discard excess fabric; press open. Repeat on opposite end of blue rectangle to make pieced rectangle. Make 24 total.
