Sew It!
Step 1. Sew assorted red 1 1/2" square to assorted ivory/tan 1 1/2" square. Working clockwise, add assorted ivory/tan, blue, and red strips as illustrated in Diagram I. Make 24 Log Cabin Block A for quilt edges and 24 Log Cabin Block B for quilt interior.

Step 2. Referring to Assembly Diagram, arrange and sew 8 rows of 6 blocks each, taking care to place A Blocks along quilt edges (rotate as shown) and B blocks in quilt center (rotate as shown). Stitch rows together.
Step 3. Sew dark red 2" x 60" strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Sew remaining dark red strips to top and bottom; trim even with sides. Stitch 5 1/2" x 62" medium blue strips to sides; trim even. Stitch remaining medium blue strips to top/bottom; trim even.

Step 4. Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice. Maria machine quilted. The block grid is ditch quilted. Each square of 4 blocks is quilted with a pair of concentric circles. The outer border features a star and wavy line design. Bind quilt with bright red print fabric (see Quiltmaking Fundamentals).
