Twin size OTHER MATERIALS Sewing thread Monofilament thread (machine quilting) CUTTING THE FABRIC Blue print ... 8 strips 2" x width of fabric (WOF) White-on-white print ... 8 strips 2" x width of fabric (WOF) Blue floral ... *4 strips 6" x 47", cut on lengthwise grain ... 17 squares 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" Gold print ... 2 strips 1 1/2" x 45", pieced from 3 WOF strips ... 2 strips 1 1/2" x WOF *Cut first Step 1. Referring to Diagram I, sew 2 blue print 2" x WOF strips and 2 white-on-white print 2" x WOF strips together and press in direction of arrows. Make 4. Cut into 72 segments 2" wide. Stitch together 4 segments to make Sixteen-patch Block (see Diagram II). Make 18. Step 2. Referring to Assembly Diagram and alternating Sixteen-patch Blocks with blue floral 6 1/2" squares, stitch 7 rows. Sew rows together. Sew gold print 1 1/2" x 45" strips to sides; trim even with top and bottom. Sew remaining gold print strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides. Sew blue floral 6" x 47" strips to sides; trim even with top/bottom. Sew remaining blue floral strips to top/bottom; trim even with sides.
