Step 2 ...
Referring to Diagram II, fold red marble 6 1/2" square down 1/2" along one edge, wrong sides together; press fold down another 1" along same edge; press again. Topstitch along first fold. Layer red marble fabric over red solid 6 1/2" square, right sides up, aligning raw edges of sides and bottom to form Bunk Blocks. Pin and then baste layers together. Make 13.

Diagram II

Step 3 ....
Referring to Assembly Diagram, stitch 5 rows, alternating Four-patch Blocks and Bunk Blocks. Sew rows together. Measure exact width of quilt top (raw edge to raw edge). Trim red school print 4" x 32" strips to exact width measurement and sew yellow 4" squares to ends of trimmed strips. Stitch remaining print strips to sides of quilt top and trim even with top and bottom. Stitch pieced strips to top and bottom of quilt top.

Step 4 ...
Layer and baste quilt top for quilting method of your choice and quilt as desired. Bind with red school print fabric (see Basic Quiltmaking Instructions).
