Quick Quilts - July 2006 Issue Grand Old Flag (Quick Quilts, July 2002) was made by Gail McKay of Omaha, Nebraska (machine quilting by Jeanne Marquardt). It is displayed in her USA themed basement as a patriotic representation of the spirit of our country.   Dena Simonds of Conifer, Colorado, made her version of Lauren's Poppies (Quick Quilts, July 2004) for her daughter Laci (machine quilting by Desiree Jensen). Dena, with three preschoolers at home, said she doesn't have much time to sew, but she gets her "quilt fix" reading each issue of Quick Quilts.
